BAILE’ DE LAS LUNAS

BAILE' DE LAS LUNAS

Hurts the head when thinking what type of 12 hr dance the Earth and Moon had to do to get the Moon from what it was to where it ended… kept camera horizontal to earth-horizon….nice spin Moon, soft on your feet!!
But considering we don’t ever see you spin, it must be us making the perspective-moves…. Earth leads in this choreography. for now I have to figure out, and learn, the HDR moon jig to get better detail at the next Baile’….

FIRST LUNAR ORBIT…

FIRST LUNAR ORBIT...

Learned how to reach the Moon last night. It took a few hours and 1/2 a bottle of vino to orbit the exposure.. Now to perfect its landing… Moonrise over Minot Beach, North Scituate, Ma.

SWIRLING ATLANTIC PHANTOMS

DAY 116... April 26, 2013

DAY 116… April 26, 2013

As sun rises I notice swirling ocean mist on Atlantic horizon. I pause…shoot…and look…The Atlantic phantom continues onward, in northerly direction, towards rising sun.. What are you? an optical illusion perhaps.. but you move….Maybe you are left-over exhaust from a large ocean-going vessel’s stack… but you are not dispersing….I set timer, fire once more, then settle down to watch. Whatever you are; you have brought back memory. Good memories of Arizona times; backpacking with friends in desert sands…my camp is set; friendly banter flows…beer in hand….watching dust-devils swirl on desert-ocean floor.

HUMBLING

HUMBLING

I think to myself ” If I were to gaze past rock and crashing wave; to swim east… when would I once again touch land…”
Curiosity pulls at mind
I check…
similar Latitudes are my focus
Oporto, Portugal… 3,153 miles away… Ok…
Plain and simple; what do I find humbling… NATURE…
Nature humbles me.

PATTERNS

PATTERNS

Three large trees in a line..Fell in the same direction.. Why did they topple? Why those three?…. Was it a heavy wind and they were the tallest trees, smallest trees, same type of tree? Did they have the most foliage and their branches could not bear the collected snow? Are they along a hidden fracture in the bedrock or seeping stream? Were they the oldest or the youngest….
Why did they topple?
Why those three?
